THIS IS AN
ANTIQUE VERY ORNATE  SMALL STERLING SILVER REPOUSSE FRENCH TEA CADDY. THIS IS AN UNUSUALLY HIGHLY DECORATED PIECE.
IT HAS 2 SCENES ON EACH SIDE ONE  DEPICTING A MAN WALKING A DOG AND THE OTHER, A MAN WALKING 2 DOGS.
THEY ARE MATCHING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE BACKGROUND SCENERY IS THE COUNTRYSIDE.
THE TOP PORTION OF THE CADDY CONTAINS A SCENE OF CHILDREN HARVESTING IN THE FIELDS AND PARTIALLY VISIBLE IS A WOMAN TO THE LEFT OF THE NECK AND MOST LIKELY A MAN TO THE RIGHT , LESS VISIBLE.
EVEN THE CAP OVER THE NECK IS HIGHLY DECORATED DEPICTING CHILD AND DOG  RUNNING THROUGH THE GRASSES. THE CHILD IS CHERUBIC LIKE, UNCLOTHED POSSIBLY HOLDING A STICK OR MAYBE A FLAG OR OTHER WOODEN TOY.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAP COVER IS ANOTHER CHERUBIC LIKE CHILD, UNCLOTHED SITTING ON THE GRASS UNDER A TREE GAZING AT A MOUNTAIN OFF IN THE DISTANCE.
ATOP THE CAP COVER IS YET ANOTHER DECORATION UNDER THE FINIAL. IT APPEARS TO BE PERHAPS A PERSON STANDING UNDER A TREE POSSIBLY WITH PEPLUM TRIMMED UPPER COAT AND KNICKERS.
THE ENTIRE CADDY, TOP PORTION NECK CAP AND  OF CAP SURROUNDING  THE FINIAL IS HIGHLY DECORATED IN
EVEN THE TINY FINIAL ON THIS MINIATURE PERSONAL CADDY IS ABSOLUTELY DAINTY AND ADORABLE.
THIS IS TRULY AN EXQUISITE PIECE.
BEAUTIFULLY MONOGRAMMED ON BOTTOM... "M, E, J,  "  PARIS".

DIFFERENT HALLMARKS, 5 ON THE BOTTOM, 2 ON NECK, 2 ON COVER.
