We are most pleased to be able to offer this outstanding example of early 19th century decorative art
LCT (1848-1933) rarely designed or worked in Sterling, making this box exceptional in that regard

All original with NO alterations or additions
A larger but otherwise identical version has been displayed at the Morse Museum in Winter Park Florida. Item # (78-0001) I had the pleasure of viewing that box several years ago at the museum and have a small catalogue listing that item under the title... "GALLERY VII - TIFFANY ART JEWELRY, FAVRILE METAL WORK & PRECIOUS GLASS"
Another example also slightly larger is in the Gardner Museum collection

signed "STERLING" "TIFFANY FURNACES"
scratch marks on bottom appear to be "S/L 306"
scratch marks on lid appear to be "235"
original fancy script monogram "PA" on lid
CONDITION:
lid has a slight bend in it leading to a gap between lid and base
two splits (separations) between the top and side of the lid approx.. 1/2" & 2" long
one enamel piece missing and a few others with small chips
interior bottom has some dark tarnished areas
otherwise good condition overall
box has not been cleaned or polished
shows a soft dark even gray tone (patina) over entire piece
a
professional
restoration would restore this great piece to its original glory
