MID CENTURY CHUCK GRUEN SILKSCREEN CHRISTMAS CARD W/ ENV./MINT, ADORABLE ANGEL

FEATURED:   One of the most adorable red-headed little charmers we've ever seen, this wonderful, slightly sassy Angel, with her mop of luscious red curls, those large fabulous angel wings, her lovely green swirling dress, and that face!  Those flirty dark eyes and rosy cheeks, surrounded by those gorgeous red curls-who wouldn't love to have her around all the time!   We also loved all the gold accents surrounding her, and the envelope silkscreened with the gold leaves (and red berries) that are on found at the bottom of the card, a wonderful touch to do.   This delightful Missy Angel was created by Chuck Gruen, who had such a talent for drawing these adorable, charming, slightly impish, joyous angels and figures for greeting cards, textiles, and other paper accessories in the Mid Century years, and the design was silkscreened by Originals Limited Studios, in Pittsfield, Mass., a legendary art and printing studio whose work is known and collected world-wide today.  Their motto was 'Mail of Distinction', and indeed this Miss Happy Personality of an Angel is certainly distinctive- and just lovely to look at, and look at again!  Found at an estate of a non-smoking graphic artist who collected art-related works and things like this fantastic card for decades, we thought she was so special that perhaps she should be framed as a work of art, which she actually is, and placed in your home to enjoy year-round.  After all, Christmas is a state of mind, is it not? And can be celebrated anytime, yes?  A great gift to send to someone who loves Christmas all year long, or perhaps someone who is fascinated with Angels, or charming pretty red-headed girls, and maybe that person is yourself!
MEASURES:  4.25 inches X 6.25 inches, original silkscreen on paper in great shape, created by Chuck Gruen, who not only was an amazing illustrator (this Angel is proof of that, certainly) but also was the Art Director for Neiman Marcus for decades, although his fame is as the creator of these wonderful figures full of charm!  The printer was Originals Limited Studios, located in Pittsfield, Mass. and the back of the card states: 'Editions Limited Style 826-8'. The greeting inside says, "Happy Holidays".  The card is New Old Stock, has never been used and is in excellent condition, as is its envelope, ready to use if desired.  A rare and wonderful item to give or receive, and certainly one that will have everyone who sees this Angel smiling and admiring her charms and your thoughtfulness in this lovely gift!
