Two Vintage Poodle Planter Figurines. We have collected poodle paraphernalia for 42 years. It's time to down size. This is the first offering from a truly huge collection. Ceramic planters historically were produced in Japan, then used by flower shops for arrangements. The mid-century poodle craze pushed poodles out into the general population which embraced them. Their charms lay in colorful glazes, cute faces, funny poses, and even purposeful uses, such as pencil holders, ashtrays and soap dishes. Neither has been used as a planter, rather they have been in display cases for decades. The one with the blue hat has some small chips in it's glaze, and stains inside cart from being used a planter (once!). Please inspect the photos for the condition we've described. Pink Plaid Poodle: 5 1/2"L, 4 1/2" H, 2 3/4"W. Blue Hat Poodle: 5 1/4"L, 4"H, 2 3/8"W.
